An accident with the company bike can be frustrating and may cause damage to the bike. To ensure quick and straightforward processing, it is important to report the damage correctly.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Check the Damage
Check if the accident has caused a defect on the bike that affects its functionality. Report the Damage
Report the damage directly via the Bikeleasing Portal:
https://portal.bikeleasing.at/login
- Select the menu item Damage Reports
- Click on Report Damage
- Select the contract
- Specify damage type as Accident
Complete all required information:
- Date of damage
- Location of damage (ZIP code + city)
- Detailed description of the damage incident (How did the damage to the bike occur?)
- Prepare Documents
If already available, upload all relevant documents such as:- Photos of the damage, if applicable a damage video
- Cost estimate/invoice from the specialist dealer
- Repair at a Specialist Dealer
Take the bike to a Bikeleasing partner dealer or another specialist dealer. They will assess the damage and submit the repair costs to us. According to our insurance conditions, self-repairs are not insured.
FAQ / Additional Information
- Does every damage need to be reported?
All damages that affect the functionality of the bike can be reported. Cosmetic defects (e.g., paint damage, scratches, scrapes) are not covered by insurance. - Who covers the costs?
The claim is handled through the Bikeleasing Comfort Insurance. For damages without external impact (e.g., material defects), warranty/guarantee may possibly apply. - What happens in the event of a total loss?
The leasing contract is terminated early at the end of the month in which the damage occurred. After the insurance claim is fully settled, a new leasing contract can be concluded. Details can be found in the insurance manual:
